RYLE 14, CONNER 4 – With the score tied at four, the Raiders belted seven hits en route to a seven-run fourth inning that put away the 33rd District final at Cooper.
Ryle senior catcher Marshall Long singled home two in that frame, and junior center fielder Thomas Baumann plated two with a triple.
Senior right-hander Mitch Lawson allowed four runs in the first three innings, but he recovered to toss three scoreless frames – facing one over the minimum in that span – to finish the game for Ryle.
It was the first district title for the Raiders since 2009.
