11/30/16 Announcements

Chess Club
Hey....Hello.....The First Ryle High School Chess Speed Tournament is now being held in the Library on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1st.....not Nov 30.... Members who wish to participate.....Stop by Mrs. Raterman's room and sign up for your division (Novice to Intermediate.....or nearly Expert Player)
Again - The tournament will be held in the Library after school on THURSDAY, DEC 1st...Prizes will be awarded for 1st place and runner up in each categor

French Honor Society
Just a reminder that our next meeting is November 30th.
We will be bagging candy afterwards, so don't forget to bring some!
Also, if you would like to help out with St. Nicholas Day, please sign-up and attend the December 1st practice.

Ryle Choirs will be performing their holiday concert at 1st church of Christ in Burlington on Thursday, December 8th beginning at 7 PM. Admission is free-come out and get into the holiday spirit with us! 

Attention Club U Members! Donation items will be due at the end of this week, Friday, December 2nd! Please be sure to get any items into Ms. Blair's room, which is room 217! Check the twitter page for particular sizes.  

Knitting club this week only will be moved from Wed. to Thursday due to a schedule conflict. No knitting club on Wednesday, it will be held on Thursday instead from 2:30-3:30. 

American Enterprise Project
Anyone interested in the American Enterprise project, there will be a meeting on Thursday, December 1st in room 118. Please attend if you want to go. 

Attention English Honor Society members - There will be a meeting on Wednesday, November 30 after school in the library. Please see the sign outside of room 129 for details.

Knitting Club

FBLA will be having a Chipotle fundraiser on Tuesday, November 22nd! Have dinner at the Mall Road Chipotle to support FBLA!!

Dual Enrollment
Any student interested in taking a dual enrollment English 101 class after school at Cooper High School, come to the guidance office for more information.

Operation Christmas Child
This is the last week to turn in shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. As of Friday, Mrs. Hockney's class is in the lead with Mrs. Evans not far behind.. You must turn in at least 5 boxes by Wednesday to be in the running for the warm breakfast prize. If your first period class is not participating, please return your box to room 107A by Tuesday morning so other class may fill them.  

Blood Drive
Give the gift of life by signing up to donate blood during the Blood Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. Sign up today in the lower commons during lunch or after school in room 210.

There is an induction ceremony this Friday during 6th period. For this meeting members with last names of A-L bring food and M-Z bring refreshments. Hope to see you all there.

It's time for the first Chess Club Supersonic Super fantastic Super Duper Super Super Super Fast Fast Fast CHESS CLUB SPEED TOURNAMENT. Whaaaaatttt? yes, That's right Folks.....The Chess Club MEMBERS (and any gockers & onlookers who want to see them in action) get on down to Old Granny Rat's Room - that's #132 After School on Wednesday November 30th for the speed tournament. There will be two divisions - Novice Plus (this means beginners to better than that) and Super Good - (this means Ooooh Doggie....Yee Haw..Wow...they are good!) ... Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up in both groups. Good Luck and See yah there. And yup...We'll have some "eats" too. #youcan'thandlethespeedofknights

Science National Honor Society
There will be a meeting right after school on Thursday, November 10th.
This meeting is mandatory.

LADY RAIDERS QUARTER AUCTION, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH FROM 2:00PM -5:00PM IN THE LOWER COMMONS.
$5.00 ADMISSION , GREAT PRIZES TO WIN WHILE SUPPORTING THE LADY RAIDERS!
 


Boys Track team will have a short meeting on Wednesday Nov 9th to discuss the next season. Seniors be there to help design this year's spirit wear. All interested athletes please attend. 2:45 in Room 103 

MHS will be meeting Tuesday, November 15th in the Media Center at 2:30 P.M. Don't forget the warm hat / gloves /mittens /scarf drive going on! 

INTERAlliance
Attention All TECH EEs,.....This is Students who have an strong interest in Information Technology. The Ryle High School INTERAlliance Club will hold its first meeting in Room 132 after school on Wednesday, November 9th in Mrs. Raterman's Room. Come and see what this club is all about - See you next Wednesday.  

Student Council Members!!!! Please be sure to check the information on the door of Room 107A for important information concerning the craft show and upcoming blood drive.

Operation Christmas Child
Time is going by fast and we need to show our Raider generosity by filling those Operation Christmas Child boxes in EVERY first period class. The class that turns in the most boxes will win a warm breakfast. So lets start filling them to make a child's Christmas one to remember! So far, Mrs. Evans class is in the lead.  \

French Honor Society
Our St. Nicholas Day celebration is coming up, and we need candy!
There are 153 bags of candy that need to be made, so be sure to bring lots of it. Keep in mind there are a few allergies, so don't bring all chocolate.
We will finish bagging the candy after the next meeting on November 30th. 

Key Club
As of Friday, the Key Club fundraiser for a staff member to get a pie in the face has the following as current standings:
Mr. Dusing is currently winning with Mr. Horton running a close second. Keep donating all week! The competition will end on Friday.
