KY FAME Program Open House

The KY FAME program provides some great opportunities to interested students.

This program can students provide students with an opportunity to have a well-paying job right out of high school with the opportunity to go to college (for free!) while they work.

For the NKY FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program, all employers pay for the schooling at Gateway Community & Technical School. Some of the employers pay the student while in school and some of the employers do not pay them while in school. Therefore, AMT’s can be making a full time or a part time wage depending on the employer.

We are seeing many students start their college careers at Gateway because it is cheaper and credits earned will transfer to any other public college or university in Kentucky.

Local companies are not only trying to find skilled employees they are also working to identify students that have leadership capabilities for management positions.  Many companies have programs where they will pay for a student to earn their bachelor's degree if they work a specified number of years with them.
