On February 25-27, the Ryle Speech Team competed in the KESDA state speech forum in Lexington and placed fourth overall, the highest placement in school history.
Individual state finalists included:
- Congress: Savannah Edwards (2nd), Doug Lusco (5th), and Jacob Hart (6th)
- Extemporaneous Speaking: Doug Lusco (6th)
- Improvizational Pairs: Katey Peace and Jim Jamison (5th)
State semi-finalists included: Savannah Merlin, Lauren Thompson, Alexa Nord, Mitchell Herweh, Caleb Taylor, Dillon Chirch, Alice Deters, Tori Aulick, Shelby Coleman, and Leslie Rowan.
Top placing Novices in the state included: Jon Leavens, Lauren Thompson, and Shelby Coleman.
