Announcements 3-25-13

Happy Monday!

  • Congratulations to the Speech & Debate Team!  They took home 2nd place in Congress and 2nd place overall at the National Forensic League District Tournament this weekend at Centre College.  Please congratulate the following students who qualified to compete at the National tournament in Birmingham:  Savannah Merlin, Daniel Kozar, John Leavens and Connor Hutcherson!

  • Congratulations to the Ryle Dance Team!  They ended their season by placing 3rd at Ameridance Nationals this weekend!

  • Congratulations to the Robotics Team!  They competed in the Queen City Regional Robotic Tournament against 53 teams from 6 states.  In only their third year of competition, Ryle's robot won the Everest Award for being the best climbing robot in the tournament.  Please congratulate the members of the Robotics team for their dedication and hard work that lead to this success!

  • Auditions for the Ryle Talent Show will be held Wednesday after school.  See Mrs. Page in Room 218 for an application.  Don't miss out on your opportunity for fame & fortune!

  • Attention Senior NHS members!  Points are due March 28th, however, you may participate in the March Into Madness 5K on March 30th for points!

  • Attention:  Speech & Debate  will be holding a Coffeehouse/Showcase next Thursday, March 28th.  Come around 6:30 pm to see our top 5 performers as they entertain the crowd with their monologues.  Admission is $2.00.  See your English teacher for extra credit.

  • Help support "Seas The Day"!  This week General Psychology students from Mr. Aylor's 1st period class will be coming around to collect money.  The money will help support the "Seas The Day Foundation", co-founded by a former Ryle graduate, which provides counseling and resources for mental awareness including suicide prevention.  The class with the highest amount donated per student wins a free breakfast!

  • The General Psychology classes are sponsoring Suicide Prevention Month.  We will have a table set up in the lower commons during 4th period with information and resources.  Remember "SUICIDE IS A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM!"  If you or someone you know is considering suicide please see a counselor, teacher, administrator or contact one of the many resources available.  YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

  • Come support your Ryle Baseball & Softball Teams this week!  Games at home Tues., Wed., Thurs., and Saturday!  Also Ryle Track hosts "Friday Night Frenzy" this Friday & Saturday!

  • Attention English Honor Society:  Check the wall outside of Room 129 for point opportunities for the week!
