Spring break baseball . . .
RYLE 9, WALTON-VERONA 8 – Raiders senior shortstop Leiff Clarkson and junior center fielder Thomas Baumann scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth on an error.
The Bearcats had runners at first and second with two outs in the top of the seventh, but Clarkson went into the hole to field a grounder and gunned down the hitter at first to end the game.
Clarkson finished with four hits, and Baumann added three and a pair of RBI to pace Ryle.
