Zach Kertis, Ryle Class of 2009

Received some very sad news this morning.  Zach Kertis, a Ryle graduate from the Class of 2009, passed away late last night in his dorm room at the University of Kentucky.  The cause of his death is being confirmed by an autopsy but the initial word is that he died suddenly of some natural cause.

Zach was a wonderful young man and will be missed by everyone at Ryle.  He was in our building just a few days ago and this weekend had planned to assist the current Ryle FBLA students with their upcoming competitions.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Kertis family and friends.

Zach we will miss you!  You will always be a Raider in our hearts!

Raiders Upset #17 Lafayette

The boys basketball team traveled to Dunbar High School in Lexington on Saturday to play in the S.T. Roach Classic against Lafayette High School.  The Raiders outscored Lafayette 20-8 in the second quarter and went on to give the Generals only their 2nd loss of the season by a score of 69-51.

The Raiders played some great defense as Lafayette made only 35% of their shots including only 3 of 22 from 3 point range.  Four players scored double figures with Zach Perkins scoing 16 and Bobby Stauffer scoring 17.
