BOWLING GREEN - Ryle senior Blake Hamilton is in contention for a title after posting a 1-over 73 in the opening day of the state golf tournament Tuesday at Bowling Green Country Club.
Hamilton is tied for third, one shot behind St. Xavier's Stephen Stallings and St. Mary's Nick Thompson.
"I couldn't ask for anything more," Hamilton said. "I made a bunch of putts on the front nine. There were six holes in a role where I one-putted. The putter was hot and I rolled with it. Some putts I hit, I was in shock that I made. I'm still in shock about a few."
