The 2011 Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership has selected nine (9) parents with children within the Boone County School District to attend the institute sessions which began September 9th and will run throughout the fall, ending November 5th.
The institute is designed to encourage and train parents to become more effective advocates for Kentucky's public education system. It also prepares them to work with other parents in their schools and communities. Since research clearly shows that both students and schools benefit when parents are involved in education,we recommend that parents become involved with the training.
