From the NKY Enquirer . . .
In a matchup of teams ranked in Northern Kentucky baseball’s top three, Ryle rode pitching and defense to a 5-3 win over Conner.
Senior pitcher Mitch See improved to 2-0. See threw six innings, allowed two earned runs on five hits, while striking out seven batters. Junior Josh Bellew relieved See for a three-up, three-down seventh inning to record his first save.
Leading 3-2 in the fifth inning, senior center fielder Thomas Baumann blasted an RBI triple to give the Raiders a two run lead. After Conner added their third run in the sixth, Baumann scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to give Ryle an insurance run.
Ryle, ranked No. 1 in the Northern Kentucky Enquirer area coaches’ poll, improved to 13-1.
