Social Studies Honor Society
Any junior or senior student interested in applying for membership in the Social Studies Honor Society can pick up an application from their Social Studies teacher. Applications need to be completely filled out and returned to Mr. Margrave in room 115 by Friday, Sept. 23rd at 3pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Junior Board
Any junior interested in running for a Junior Board officer position, please pick up your candidate form in room 104 and must return them to Ms. Johnson by Tuesday, September 20th.

Key Club
Any student wishing to be a member of Key Club this year must turn in the $15 dues to either Mrs. Swinney in room 127 or Mrs. McQuade in the Media Center no later than Monday, September 26th. Let us know if financial concerns exist. Also, members need to register for REMIND text messages.

Community Service
Opportunity for Community Service Hours- Saturday, September 24
6:45 - 8:45 PM
Kindervelt is hosting a fun Chili Cook-Off and 20 students are needed to help serve chili samples and possibly to sell raffle tickets.
Students will need to wear either all red or all black.
There will be live music and students will be welcome to sample the chili as well.

The Hispanic Honors Society will have its first meeting this Thursday, the 15th in Señora Call's room after school. All returning members and anyone interested in applying should attend. See Señora Call or Nathan Connor for more information!

NHS
There will be an NHS meeting after school in the media center today, Septemeber 12th. It is for returning members only and dues are $20. All returning members have until September 16th to pay their dues. 
HOSA
To anyone interested in health careers, the first HOSA meeting is Wednesday, Steptember 14th after school. If you need an application you can ask Mrs. Page in room 232, and dues are $20.

National Arts in Education Week is Sept. 11-17th!

The arts are an essential part of a complete education, no matter if it happens in the home, school, or community. Students of all ages—from kindergarten to college to creative aging programs—benefit from artistic learning, innovative thinking, and creativity. Celebrating National Arts in Education Week is a way to recognize this impact and share the message with friends, family, and communities.

Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs 2017 Applications Open Soon

The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) is a 3-week residential summer program for 9th, 10th and 11th graders. It offers a creative, free-thinking environment for teens to create and build their ideas for products and services. A minimum GPA or ACT score is not required to apply.

The GSE application portal will open by October 1. Completed applications (including recommendations) are due by January 4, 2017. Students may apply through the GSE website. View the comprehensive application instruction videos here.

Packets with GSE posters and handouts have been mailed to schools. If we have not previously visited your school, you may sign up online for a visit to your school, or call us at (859) 568-2199 to schedule.

Interested in a career in Metal Fab, Welding, Diesel, Auto Tech, Machine Tool, or Health Science?? The Boone County ATC will be hosting an open house for perspective students on September 15th, on the Conner Campus from 6-8 pm.
