Announcements Tuesday, April 5th


Boys Basketball:
  • Any boy that is interested in playing basketball next year there will be a meeting after school this Thursday, April 7th at 2:40 in room 203
  • If you are unable to attend, see Coach McFarland in room 203 or Coach Williams in room 112


Interalliance:
  • April 7th Interalliance meeting in room 119 right after school. Planning year end party, officer elections for next year and need volunteers for Jet and Hawk days. See you there. 


English Honor Society:
  • Attention English Honor Society Members - We will have a brief informational meeting on Wednesday, April 6 after school in the library. We will discuss upcoming activities and service events. 


KEY Club:
  • Those interested in becoming a KEY Club officer. Applications are with Ms. Delaney Rm 127 or Mrs. McQuade in the Media Center. 
  • The KEY CLUB is collecting items for GO Pantry. Please bring items to Room 127 or the Media Center.


Knitting Club:
  • No knitting club this week. See you after Spring Break!


Astronomy RAP Workshop:
  • Want to learn more about astronomy? There will be two different RAP workshops on Thursday and Friday focusing on space -- the final frontier. Sign up for solar system workshops in the biology section of the RAP website.

Coffeehouse:
  • The speech and debate team will be holding its annual coffeehouse on Tuesday at 7pm in the auditorium
  • For the low price of $3, you get coffee, hot cocoa, desserts, and an hour of fun performances! 


NHS:
  • The next NHS meeting is Monday, April 4th after school in the media center

  • Senior NHS hours and sponsored points are due today, Thursday, March 31st

  • 10th & 11th grade NHS members....hours/points are due by Friday, May 13th


Pasta For Pennies:
  • Friday is the LAST day to turn in the Pasta boxes to win an Olive Garden lunch
  • All 5th period teachers be sure to turn in your box on Friday April 1st even if it's empty
  • Thanks for your support of this lifesaving activity!!!

FFA:
  • The Ryle FFA competed at the Northern Kentucky Regional Day on Thursday evening in speaking contests, parliamentary procedure contest and many more
  • Congrats to everyone and your hard work! Congratulations to Zach Wreidt, Ashlyn Nettle and Megan Zornes-Miles for moving on to State!


Senior Class T-Shirt:
  • Sr Class Tee Shirts are being sold beginning Mon, Mar 28, until Thursday, April 7
  • These are the shirts with all the class members' names that we have our class picture taken in
  • Shirts are $12 and can be purchased in Room 208 before school or in the Upper Commons after school



Dance Team:
  • Dance Team open practices: Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-5 in Auditorium or Lower Commons

Kentucky Regional Science and Engineering Fair:
  • Congratulations to Ken Ryumae for winning the Kentucky Regional Science and Engineering Fair with his entry on "Improving Communication Between Ground Robots and Drones"
  • He will be competing at the State Competition on March 25th and 26th. Good luck Ken! 



Ryle Fishing Club:
  • Students interested in joining a fishing club at Ryle should attend an after school meeting in room 235 for more info


Volunteer Opportunity:
  • New Haven Elementary is looking for student volunteers to help assist in concessions as well as set up/ tear down for their New Haven Spring Carnival
  • The Carnival is Friday, May 6th from 5pm-8pm
  • They are looking for 20-25 volunteers 
  • See Mr. Dusing if interested


Math Honor Society: 
  • SENIORS: Don't forget your contract, cord payment($7) and completion of service hours by April 5th. See Mrs. Bates in Room 211 to take care of the requirements
  • Our next meeting is Monday, April 18th in the Media Center at 2:35

KHSSL State Championship Results

This weekend at the Kentucky High School Speech League state speech and debate championships, Ryle Forensics took home two team awards and numerous individual awards.   The team placed 5th overall in the debate championship and 9th in the speech championship.   We haven't been on the podium in both speech and debate in a long time, so we are very excited!
