Skills USA competition

The Boone County Area Technical Center (ATC) held their local SkillsUSA competition on January 29th and had five students competing to see which two would rep-resent the welding class. Out of the five students competing, Glenn Doolin and Robby Siemer earned their way to compete at Chapman ATC for the regional competition. Although they did not take first and second place at Chapman, Robby Siemer was able to take first place and will be competing in Louisville during the month of April for the state competition. Robby received a first place trophy along with a $5,000 scholarship to Ohio Technical College.

Announcements for Week 3/24/14-3/28/14

National Honors Society: There is a sponsored point opportunity this Saturday, March 29th. To sign-up for times  go to www.ryleband.com and click on the "charms calendar" on the top left. For more information, see the media center by Friday. If you sign-up, be sure to fill out a point-verification sheet.
- 1 sponsored point for bringing in a 2 liter of soda or a large bag of candy for the After Prom. Seniors must take advantage of this opportunity by Monday, March 31st 10th and 11th graders have until April 4th.

GSTA Club: The first club meeting will be held Thursay 3/27/14 in room 229.

Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale again for the final time this year. The purchase deadline is March 28! Please turn in all orders to the front office or to Ms. Gambrel in room 123. Books are 470 or $75 with personalization. Buying your book before the 28th is the only way to guarantee you get one. You may visit www.jostens.com to purchase online.

Science Honors Society: There will be a meeting today after school in room 221. T-shirts and other point opportunities will be discussed.

FCCLA: If you are interested in running for a regional office, your typed application is due by end of day Thursday, March 27 to Ms. Dews. Applications can be found at the Kentucky FCCLA website.

Math Honors Society: There will be a Math Honors Society t-shirt day on Thursday, April 3rd. Wear your shirt and sign in with your math teacher to receive a point. Remember; you need a total of 10 points by the end of the year, including 2 service points.

Speech and Debate: Come see the award-winnning performances of the speech and debate team. Please join us Monday, March 31 in the auditorium for drama and laughs at our annual coffeehouse. Refreshments will be served at 6:45 with performances beginning at 7.

Bookstore: Reminder seniors that senior guy and girl shirts orders and money is due this Friday, March 28th. Please bring money to the bookstore during lunch or give to Mr. Murphy.

National Honors Society: SENIOR NHS MEMBERS- remember all points are due by Monday, March 31st. Turn these in or you will not receive a stoll for graduation.

Auditions for the talent show are Wednesday, April 2nd in the auditorium. We are looking for all kinds of talent, so come on out! See Ms. Page in room 218 for more information.

KY Business Education Club: Can you type really fast? Kentucky Business Education Association is sponsoring a keyboard contest. Top prize is a $50 itunes gift card. Please see Mrs. Evans in room 124 by Friday if you are interested.

Bank Madness: Come to the Raider Bank March 17-19 to get your bracket. Each bracket is $1 each and you may purchase an unlimited amount. Winner will get a chipotle gift card. Also, whoever picks the National Champion correctly will receive a complimentary cupcake from the Raider Bank.

Bookstore/Seniors: Remember Seniors! The guy girl t-shirt money please bring to the bookstore during lunch by Friday. The t-shirt cost is $10.

English Honors Society: We will have a breakfast Friday, March 21st at 7am room 129. 1 point for coming and 1 point for bringing food.
- We are collecting gently used books, movies, and CD's. Age range is birth to 12th grade. Three items equals a point. Bring to Mrs. Schwartz, room 129 by Friday, March 21st.

Due to MOS testing in room 124, there will not be Computer RAP Lab on Thursday and Friday.

Regional FBLA Results!

On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, sixty-five Ryle members competed at the annual Region 4 FBLA Conference at NKU.  Our students placed in 39 of the 54 events entered and have qualified to compete in their respective events at the KY State FBLA Conference on April 14-16 in Louisville, KY.

Annoucements for Week 3/10/14-3/14/14

Junior Board: All Junior Board Members need to attend the meeting this Thursday at 2:40 in room 104 to continue planning prom.

Mentoring Program: All mentors to attend the meeting in the lower commons at 8:45 am Thursday morning.

Spanish Honors Society: there will be a meeting  for all members after school on March 13th in Mrs. Calls

Math Honors Society: We will be celebrating pi day next Friday, March 14th directly after school in Mrs. K's room. This is a great point oppurtunity; you will recieve points fo rattending, memorizing digits of pi and bringing in snack items. Sign-ups ar elocated on the back of Mrs. K's dor, 203. I must be completed by Wednesday, March 12th. For more information about pi day and additional point oppurtunites please check room 203. Also, MHS t-shirt day is on pi day!

Dance Team: Anyone interested in tryouts for the 2014-2015 Raiderette Dance Team may join the girls for open conditioning and technique practices on Tuesdays and Thursday's after school; beginning March 18th. Tryouts will be held April 30- May 2. Any questions, see Mrs. Fancher in room 237.

Tri-State Marching Guard Art Show is March 29th 10 am-10 pm.

FBLA: Regional Conference is Tuesday, March 11.Students please be studying for your respected event.
- Please have your permission slip and $30 by this Friday to Mr. Denigan or Mrs. Klaas. This is the last day.

Guidance: Don't forget to sign up to take AP Exams! The last day to sign up is March 14th.

FFA: The FFA is hosting a Chili dinner and silent auction in the lower commons on March 11. You can by tickets in room 137 or from an FFA officer. Presale  $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Please come out and support the FFA.

NHS: There will be an NHS meeting after school in the media center on March 10th.
